Research paper Vandit Vijay Research Scholar in IIT Delhi and working on Bio energy systems and the potential for their integration for village energy self sufficiency in his PhD, has been selected student awardees for his research paper for 26th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition - 2018 ( EUBCE 2018). The EUBCE in 2018 is being organized at Copenhagen city of Denmark where 3500 authors and co-authors will present 900 research papers from 83 countries during 14-17 May, 2018. The student award to Mr Vandit will be given for his path breaking concept and work for sustainable energy supply system to villages using locally available bio-energy resources. This has been selected among all the student research papers which will be presented there. He is working on the concept of self energy reliance of the villages ( Gram Urja Swaraj ) using locally available bio resources in the vicinity of villages, extending the concept of Mahatma Gandhi on Gram Swaraj. This will pave a way for pollution free, decentralized, cost effective energy supply system in rural areas using locally available resources by converting these into biogas and bio-fuels for cooking energy, power generation and transport fuel requirements. It will improve local environment, economy and enhance local employment generation and give a direction for reverse migration. IIT Delhi is providing him financial support for travel and other expenses to present paper. Prof PMV Subbarao is the PhD supervisor of Vandit.
