IITD and ICAR signs MOU for joint research

On 20th July, 2018 at Krishi Bahwan, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) and Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) have signed an MOU for collaborative R&D activities. The MOU is aimed at harnessing from the synergies of these two important institutions and implementing multi-disciplinary R&D activities and nurturing innovations. Particular areas of mutual research interest includes agriculture, IT research, electronics, information and communication, IT based societal development.

On the outset Dr. P. K. Agrawal ADG (NASF) welcomed Dr. T. Mohapatra, Secretary, DARE & DG, ICAR and Dr.Ramgopal Rao, Director, IIT, Delhi and other participants Dr. T. Mohapatra, Secretary, DARE and Director General, ICARinked the MOUs with Prof.Ramgopal Rao Director, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, in the presence of Dr. B. R. Mehta, Dean, IIT, Delhi and Dr S. K. Khare, Associate Dean, IITD. Dr S. Mauria, ADG (International Relations), Dr A. Arunachalam, PS, ICAR, Dr P. L. Singh, PS, Dr A. K. Mishra, Dr S. K. Dhar and Mr A. Verma. Remarks from the dignitaries highlighted that the collaborations will help in advancement of science and technology in agriculture, engineering and application of engineering and technology in agriculture.It will also catalyse Scientist-to-Scientist contact and transfer of technology to better answer the issues of agriculture and engineering. Partnership and synergy between these organizations will help ICAR and IITD serving Indian Agriculture better. Both DG, ICAR and Director, IITD emphasized for closer partnership between two organizations for Indian agriculture.
